OER – academy conference

Useful event below – I believe that Ali Ewing from TIGER is attending as delegate. Anyone else ?

Dear OER2 colleagues

As you may know, a one day joint Subject Strand conference, based on the outcomes of a selection of Phase 1 pilot projects, is taking place on Tuesday 26 October, at RIBA, Portland Place, London.

We would like to offer all projects in Phase 2 the opportunity to showcase your work in a rolling slideshow which will be in the main auditorium and all breakout rooms whenever there is a break, as well as during the closing remarks.

If you would like to take us up on this chance to highlight your project, then please send ONE PowerPoint slide, by close of play on Wednesday 20 October, to me, suzanne@medev.ac.uk

We have some great keynote speakers: Prof Diana Laurillard, Jeff Merriman from the MIT OCW team, and a prerecorded video made especially for us by Stephen Downes, and a host of panel sessions, presentations and workshops, with a lot of practical stuff to take away.

You can find out what was learned from BioOER, HumBox, OOER, PHORUS and SimShare from the Phase 1 Subject Strand pilots, and there will be staff from all projects on duty throughout the day.

The programme (still in draft) is shaping up nicely  over on Googledocs (do go and have a look at http://www.medev.ac.uk/dinky/oeritd10_googledoc_programme/).

There are still places left (fully subsidised registration fee, refreshments and lunch provided) and we would love to see you there.

 All the best

(on behalf of the conference organising team)
